Neighbours upset with GO plan

Some Kitchener residents are sounding off about where the GO Trains will be parked when the service starts next year.

The site between King and Park Street has already received provincial approval, but was never studied.

GO is planning to keep the diesel trains parked in the layover site overnight.

They could spend an hour idiling in the morning to warm up.

Residents only found out about the plan late last week.

Concerned resident, Stephen Sollazzo tells 570’s Gary Doyle Show his biggest issue is the noise.

Sollazzo says the trains should instead be parked at a large shunting yard near Breslau.

A petition is already circulating among those concerned about the plan.
