A speeding ticket issued every five minutes — that’s the average of a Guelph Police speed trap in a problem neighbourhood.
Woodlawn Road West around Governors Road was targeted this weekend by police for speed enforcement after a number of complaints came in from the public.
In just four hours, 48 speeding tickets were handed out by police watching the area.
In addition, a 32-year old Kitchener male was charged with Follow Too Closely after a near rear-end collision with a vehicle being pulled over by police.
A number of child safety seat inspections were also conducted.
Guelph Police remind the public the speed limit on this section of Woodlawn Road is 60 kph.
