Prisoner takes off

Waterloo Regional Police had to chase a female prisoner who broke out of a cruiser on Highway 8 this afternoon.
There was a brief foot chase along the highway around 4:30.
Police say a window in the cruiser was broken.
The prisoner is being checked out at hospital.
She was being transferred from the Cambridge detachment to the holding cells at the Kitchener detachment.
