Rogers TV and 570 News have rolled out the first installment of all-candidates debates in advance of next month’s municipal elections.
The first two were held last night.. featuring candidates for North Dumfries Township Ward one and Wilmot Township Ward three.
Candidates fielded questions on a wide range of issues, from economic development to property taxes to EMS response times.
In North Dumfries, candidates Susan Foxton and William Jordan both agreed it’s a tough balancing act to keep property taxes in check while trying to offer adequate services to residents.
In Wilmot Township, candidates in Ward three, Barry Fisher and Darlene Vorstenbosch shared their views on economic development.
Both say council needs to find a way to attract more businesses to Baden, considering it’s one of the larger communities in the township.
Two more debates will air tonight on Rogers TV.
First up is Cambridge Ward seven at seven o’clock, followed by North Dumfries Township Ward two at 7:30.
