You’ve heard of sober up.. but what about “Smober Up”?
It takes the challenge of quitting smoking to the World Wide Web with all the supports of a social network.
Eight Canadians, including a Waterloo native, have signed up for the program which allows them to either share their experiences through 10 webisodes posted on YouTube or on a Facebook site.
KJ is the Waterloo participant: a musician who has smoked for close to five years.
His reasons for quitting are very personal, including his grandfather’s death from smoking-related causes.
He says it’s about the health of himself and Jaime – Jaime being his girlfriend who is also featured in the program.
So, how has he done to date?
KJ tells 570 News he’s doing alright but it was tough at first because smoking had become part of his life.
