Girl who murdered her mother will go to UW this fall

The Toronto Star is reporting that a Mississauga woman who drowned her mother in a bathtub will attend the University of Waterloo this fall.

The 24 year old served four years behind bars after being convicted in 2005 of first degree murder.

When they were teens, she and her sister drowned their alcoholic mother and then went out for a celebration dinner. They tried to make it look like an accident, but a friend later went to police to tell them it was planned.

The girl live at an undisclosed residence while she attends school.

She is enrolled in the science and engineering program, with a two-thousand dollar scholarship from the university.
