Guelph Police targeted a city street notorious for speeders, and they nabbed dozens of motorists with lead feet.
Yesterday’s crackdown, on Wellington West between Edinburgh Road South and Imperial Road South, last all of four hours, and in that time they handed out 54 tickets.
The fastest speed recorded was 97 in a 60 zone.
The crackdown was in response to complaints from neighbourhood residents.
Also caught in the sweep was a city woman, charged with four counts of driving under suspension.
Police warn this is not a one-time blitz and they will continue to monitor speeds in the area.
