Keeping cool will be quite a task in the region along with much of Central Canada today.
570 News Weather Specialist John Wilson says the temperature will soar to 33 degrees today, feeling like 41 with the humidex.
Environment Canada Senior Climatologist Dave Phillips tells 570’s Jeff Allan Show, we’ve seen heat waves before but this one is a little more humid than most because it comes from tropical air.
Phillips says we have some slightly cooler, less humid weather to look forward to by the weekend. But until that shows up, hydro officials are asking us to conserve power.
The Independent Electricity System Operator expected
peak demand to hit around 6 this evening, at about 25 thousand megawatts.
