Portuguese parade in Cambridge

There is a parade in Cambridge today to celebrate the local Portuguese community.
This year marks the 50th year for the Cambridge Portuguese Club.
Cambridge is said to have the highest Portuguese population outside of Portugal with the 2006 census showing over ten thousand people with portuguese roots residing in Cambridge.
Today’s parade marches through downtown galt.
It starts at 11am, running from the Galt Arena on Shade Street and then proceeds to Queen’s Square to the Porteguese monument.
Last year the parade had about 35 floats
The day wraps up with food and music.
In Kitchener there is a carnival put on by the Kitchener Portuguese club at its Fisher Hallman Road location.
