May 2-4 is here

The first unofficial long weekend of summer looks promising in terms of the weather.

Aside from some showers early tomorrow, 570 News Weather Specialist John Wilson is expecting nice weather with temperatures in the 20’s for the Victoria Day weekend.

And there’s lots to do outside this weekend. Marjorie Wood with Tourism Waterloo Region tells 570’s Jeff Allan Show the African Lion Safari’s water park opens for the season this weekend. She adds that Bingemans is open for camping, and while you’re there, you can check out the Psychic Fair. It features tarot card readers, healers and mediums.

Woods says another thing worth checking out is the Skills Canada Competition. She says it’s a great event for anyone thinking of a second career and for high school and college students looking to get into a skilled trade.

It runs from 9 until 3-pm Friday and Saturday at RIM Park in Waterloo.
