Elementary school kids who don’t get their immunization records in today could be suspended.
Lesley Rintchee with the region’s public health unit says new legislation requires them to have a copy of all children’s immunization records and legal exemptions.
That way, in the event of an outbreak, Rintchee says they know which children are at risk of getting a disease.
Rintchee says the health unit says only a small percentage of parents have not submitted the information yet.
