Green Fair at St. Jacobs Arena

A green wave sweeps across St.Jacobs today where the 3rd annual Green Living and Technology Fair is being held at the arena. Dozens of organizations are taking part including smaller groups all the way up to solar power heavyweight ARISE Technologies.
Fair planning committee member Paul Parker tells 570 News there will also be alternative energy tours where you can check out homes powered by solar energy as well as a sneak preview of the REEP house under construction: a century old home that’s being updated to cut its energy consumption by up to 90%.
Parker says many of these technologies once out of reach for consumers are now affordable. He points to solar panels as an example. They were developed by the space program to power space ships.
The fair runs from 11am to 5pm this afternoon.
