Kitchener rewords amalgamation question

The City of Kitchener has changed the wording of its amalgamation question on the next election ballot to match the wording used by the City of Waterloo.

Mayor Carl Zehr says the move will avoid confusion when the question is sent off to the province for approval.

He says the questions were originally worded differently but they meant the same thing.

The Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing has until the first of June to make a decision on whether the question can be included on the ballot.

Saying yes to the question would open up amalgamation talks between the two cities.
