Blue hair in fashion

If you see someone walking around with blue hair in the next few days, give them some money!

The Make-A-Wish Foundation will be the beneficiary of the “Go Blue! Go Bald!” fundraiser, where local volunteers will dye their hair blue today, and shave it all off Saturday.

Among the Marge Simpson wannabe’s will be all the students at the St. Louis Adult Learning Centre hair styling program.

Student, Isaac Yamoah turned his hair and beard blue, in honour of how Make A Wish once helped his young cousin.

Isaac says he’s happy to help another family as Make-A-Wish helped his, and feels a little excited to sport blue hair for a couple days.

Hairstyling teacher, Tamara Becker, says all her students, and many other students at St. Louis, are going blue this year, and they’ve already raised $1,600 themselves.

Debbie Lindsay, a WestJet customer service rep, and a Make A Wish volunteer says they hope to match last year’s numbers of $25,000 raised from roughly twenty-five blue-headed volunteers.

Also getting a dye and shave will be employees from WestJet and Moose Winooski’s.

The shave-off happens at the Region of Waterloo  International Airport this Saturday from 12:00 until 4-pm.
