GRT extends pilot project in Elmira

Grand River Transit’s pilot Elmira bus service is being extended by a year.
Regional council voted for the extension in light of the fact ridership has been showing steady growth.
Almost one year since it started, daily ridership has climbed from 131 in April to 300 in December.
Saturday’s ridership often approaches 600.
The route connects Elmira with the Conestoga Mall transit terminal, including stops in the St. Jacobs downtown and the Farmer’s Market.
