Healthy heart survey

February is heart month and with that in mind the 570 News Insider Survey asked you about your heart health.
It seems most of those who took our survey are healthy, only 17 per cent say they have experienced heart problems but 43 per cent of you say you don’t feel there is enough education about heart health. 57 per cent say you feel there is.
39 per cent say heart disease runs in their family, while 51 per cent say it does not, and 10 per cent are not sure.
When it comes to high cholesterol, 21 per cent say they have it, 19 per cent haven’t been to the doctor to find out and 60 per cent say their cholesterol level is just fine.
Part of hearth health is a healthy diet and 72 per cent of you say you check the labels on pre-packaged foods while out grocery shopping. 47 per cent make a conscious effort to buy products with the health check symbol, 53 per cent do not. 20 per cent of you consider yourselves salt-a-holics saying the more salt on your food the better.
And when it comes to fundraiser’s for the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 46 per cent say they have participated to raise money for the organization.
