Military commander charged in two murders

The base commander at CFB Trenton, has been charged with the first-degree murders of both Jessica Lloyd of Belleville and Marie Comeau of Brighton.

46-year-old Colonel Russell Williams was remanded in custody during a brief court appearance today.

Lloyd disappeared just a few weeks ago.

She failed to show up for her job with a transportation company in Napanee.

Comeau, a corporal with C-F-B Trenton’s 437 squadron was killed in November.

Williams is also charged with forcible confinement, break and enter and sexual assault of two women in two separate home invasions in the Tweed area last September.
