Cell phone ban starts tomorrow

The three-month grace period for Ontario motorists who refuse to turn off their hand held electronic devices while driving is about to end.
Effective tomorrow(Monday) police will begin ticketing offenders with the maximum fine checking in at $500.
The ban covers everything from cell phones and Blackberries to GPS units.
Waterloo Regional Police Staff Sergeant Scott Diefenbaker tells 570 News studies show distracted drivers are four times more likely to be in a crash than those who are focused on the road.
He says he still sees motorists chatting on the phone while driving, but he says, starting tomorrow they’ll get a rude awakening if they’re caught: namely, a ticket.
