JACMEL, Haiti – A Canadian Forces relief aid convoy has been sidelined by a traffic accident in Haiti.
Several members of the disaster-response team are stranded on the highway near their hub of Jacmel.
The incident occurred on the cracked and rock-strewn road leading to the capital, Port-Au-Prince.
The front of one jeep is partly caved in, with a front tire dangling off to the side, and the convoy has been paralyzed as soldiers try to repair the vehicle.
There are no reported injuries in the collision and few other details.
But the incident represents a setback for Canadian efforts in Jacmel.
