Rogers Radio partners for relief efforts

570 News would like to lend a helping hand to a local agency co-ordinating a massive shipment of earthquake relief supplies. The Mennonite Central Committee is sending 20,000 relief kits to Haiti. The kits contain everything from soap to toothpaste and combs to nail clippers. For a complete list of needed items, click here.

The MCC also says cotton sheets are in high demand. The sheets must be a minimum 300 thread count and will not only provide cover but also offer earthquake survivors protection from mosquitoes. The MCC is packing the supplies and co-ordinating their delivery to Haiti. The goal is to get as many supplies as we can to the agency so the shipment can be made as soon as possible.

You can drop off your donations beginning Monday at any of seven sites in the region. The main site is at 50 Ottawa Street at Ottawa in Kitchener. The others are the MCC Ontario Warehouse, 50 Kent Avenue in Kitchener; Lancaster Thrift at 335 Lancaster Street West in Kitchener; Generations Thrift Shop at 50 Bridgeport Road East in Waterloo; the New Hamburg Thrift Centre at 41 Heritage Drive in New Hamburg; Elmira Thrift Shop at 59 Church Street West in Elmira; and New to You Thrift Shop at 11 Main Street in Milverton.
