All aboard for GO’s E-A

It looks like GO Train service to Kitchener is one step closer.

Environment Minister John Gerretson approved the Environmental Assessment on Thursday.

The ball is basically now in the province’s court, it must decide whether to fund the expansion.

GO Transit Spokesperson Vanessa Thomas tells 570 News the proposal could initially mean 14 rush hour trains to and from Kitchener to Toronto.

No time table has been set for the trains possibly coming here.

GO started bus service to Waterloo Region last fall.

Thomas says GO has been pleased with the ridership numbers so far.
