Jason Akeson scored the winner as Kitchener came from behind to beat the Niagara Ice Dogs 3-2 last night. The Rangers needed two third period goals to secure their second victory in three weekend games. It was a rebound win for Kitchener, who surrendered two goals in the third period in a 3-2 loss to Plymouth the night before. On Friday, Kitchener exploded for five third period goals in a 7-2 drubbing of the Erie Otters.
The OHL’s trade deadline arrives at Noon today. Kitchener has been quiet on the trade front, sending Shane Prince to the Ottawa 67’s last week in exchange for a third round draft pick.
