The Snowbirds are coming to Kitchener.
The Waterloo Wellington Flight Centre has announced the popular aerobatics team has chosen this year’s Aviation Expo as its Father’s Day weekend tour stop.
General Manager of the Centre, Bob Connors tells 570 News, its been quite awhile since they’ve stopped off in our area for a show.
The Snowbirds performed at the 1984 Oktoberfest air show.
Connors says over 500 people showed up to welcome them last year when they stopped to fuel at the Region of Waterloo International Airport.
The expo will host the team as one of 14 air acts during a two-day event June 19th and 20th.
Connor’s says the show is close to home for Guelph native Chris Bard who is a member of the Snowbirds team.
The Waterloo Wellington Flight Centre is looking for volunteers to help out with the air show.
