Olympic torch arrived in the region today!

Long time Kitchener volunteer Pat Doherty lit the ceremonial cauldron on the downtown stage at Kitchener City Hall.
Pat Doherty had the torch passed to him by Jim Balsillie for the final leg of the local route.
The torch made its way through 9 communities today which included London, Thamesford, Ingersoll, Woodstock, Tavistock, Stratford, Shakespeare, New Hamburg, New Dundee, Cambridge and Waterloo.
Events pick up tomorrow morning at 5:45 with an Aboriginal ceremony at Kitchener City Hall then the flame heads to Guelph at 6:25.
