KPL moves to cut fundraising goal

The recession is to blame for Kitchener Public Library cutting its fundraising goal for its expansion. The library is cutting its efforts by almost 90 per cent. KPL was originally committed to raising 10 per cent of the $40 million dollar project. Instead, the library has asked council to approve a change that would leave them on the hook for just $500,000. The expansion will add 33 thousand square feet of space, address accessibility issues and improve energy efficiency in the 47-year-old building.
