Over 100 charges laid through RIDE checks in January: WRPS

It was a busy January for Waterloo Regional Police.
The service said 103 charges were laid through R.I.D.E. checks last month.
All in all, officers stopped a total of 1,287 vehicles.
The majority of charges laid were under the Highway Traffic Act, with nine issued for impaired driving.
You can see a full breakdown of the charges below.
- Nine impaired-related charges (two Impaired Driving charges and seven Over 80 charges)
- 10 three-day suspensions, one seven-day suspension and one thirty-day suspension
- 62 Highway Traffic Act charges
- One Criminal Code charge
- Four Cannabis Control Act charges
Police have issued a reminder to motorists: don't drink and drive. If you suspect someone behind the wheel is under the influence, call 911.
