Drugs seized during traffic stop in Cambridge

Two men are now facing charges

Two arrests have been made following a traffic stop in Cambridge.

It was carried out Tuesday in the area of Water Street and Ainslie Street. 

Police arrested the alleged driver and passenger for numerous offences. They also seized suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, and Canadian currency.

A 36-year-old man was arrested on outstanding warrants. He has been charged with three counts of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a prohibited weapon.

A 40-year-old man has been charged with possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking (three counts), driving while prohibited and possession of a prohibited weapon.

The accused were held in custody for a bail hearing.
