Driver allegedly takes off after collision in Kitchener

Police are on the lookout for a driver after a hit-and-run collision in Kitchener.

It happened around 1:30 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of Victoria Street North and Frederick Street.

Police say a black BMW was heading south on Victoria when it struck a traffic light pole in the centre median. The driver then allegedly fled the scene on foot.

Any possible witnesses, or anyone who has dash cam footage, is asked to call Waterloo Regional Police at 519-570-9777, extension 6399, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
