Collision involving pedestrian under investigation in Waterloo (update)

Waterloo Regional Police continue to investigate a collision involving a pedestrian in Waterloo.

It happened Tuesday afternoon just after 1:30 p.m. in the Ira Needles Boulevard and Erb Street area.

According to police, the pedestrian was attempting to cross the street when they were struck by a white pick-up truck.

A 21-year-old man was taken to an out-of-town hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. 

The 33-year-old Kitchener man driving the truck was not hurt.  

A police drone was deployed to assist with the investigation and there was a temporary road closure on Erb Street. The roundabout has since fully reopened. 

Any witnesses to the crash, including those with relevant dash cam video, are asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
