Waterloo Regional Police have provided an update after an incident outside a Kitchener school a week ago.

Last Tuesday, three young people were playing basketball in the Victoria Street and Park Street area when they were allegedly approached by a group of older youths.

According to police, a knife was then brandished and a racial slur was directed at one of the younger kids. No one was hurt.

In an update released on March 14, police said two male youths were identified in connection with the investigation.

One of the youths was issued a formal caution. The other youth was charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and uttering threats to damage property, and police said two knives were seized.

A media release from the Waterloo Regional Police Service said, “At this time, no further parties remain outstanding.”
