Freezing drizzle advisory in effect for:

  • Guelph – Erin – Southern Wellington County
  • Kitchener – Cambridge – Region of Waterloo
  • Mount Forest – Arthur – Northern Wellington County

Freezing drizzle tonight and tomorrow.

Periods of freezing drizzle are expected to affect the region through tonight and into Thursday. There is the potential for a brief period of freezing rain Thursday afternoon before temperatures rise above zero and the precipitation changes to rain or drizzle.

Challenging winter travelling conditions are expected today through Thursday due to the prolonged period of icing.

In the wake of this weather system, strong westerly winds with gusts in the 70 to 90 km/h range may be possible.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas.

Freezing drizzle advisories are issued when drizzle falling in sub-zero temperatures is expected to freeze on contact, and over time create icy surfaces.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to ONstorm@canada.ca or tweet reports using #ONStorm.
