Dangerous yellow fentanyl has people ‘dropping after use’

A warning from health officials west of Waterloo Region as a dangerous batch of fentanyl is circulating through Oxford County.

Southwestern Public Health issuing an alert as they've received reports about “yellow fentanyl”.

The drug is bright yellow in colour, and causes people to “drop” right after use. 

The rise in overdoses has already led to an increase in requests for Naloxone kits in that area. 

If you suspect someone is experiencing an overdose, call 911 immediately. 

In the first month of 2019, there were 10 suspected opioid-related deaths in Waterloo Region.
