NEWS RELEASE
TOWNSHIP OF WOOLWICH

*************************

Due to technical issues with the internet and phone voting system experienced by all municipalities using Dominion Voting, the Township of Woolwich will be extending the voting period until 8:00 p.m. tomorrow, Tuesday, October 23rd, 2018 to ensure all residents have had the opportunity to vote.

The system will remain open, so voters can continue voting from home or a Voter Help Centre. Voter Help Centres will be provided at the following locations from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm:

  • Woolwich Municipal Office – 24 Church Street West, Elmira
  • Woolwich Memorial Centre – 24 Snyder Avenue South, Elmira
  • Breslau Community Centre – 100 Andover Drive, Breslau
  • St. Jacobs Fire Station – 3 Water St, St. Jacobs

All votes that have already been cast have been recorded correctly.

At approximately 6:00 p.m. on Monday, October 22nd, the Dominion Voting System used by the Township of Woolwich in the 2018 Municipal Election began experiencing problems accepting votes. The system is currently back up and running, but extended loading times are limiting access to the system. The Township of Woolwich is working with Dominion to resolve these issues. Please watch the Townships website and social media channels for further updates.

The Township of Woolwich appreciates your patience and understanding while we work to resolve these issues. Please visit woolwich.ca/elections or call 519-669-6049 for more information.
