Region reporting 11 new cases of COVID-19

Region of Waterloo Public Health is reporting 11 new cases of COVID-19.

Two of the new cases, a man in his 80s and woman in her 50s, are being treated at St. Mary's General Hospital.

Eight of the 11 are presumptive positive cases 

It brings the local total to 69.

Here is a further breakdown of the new cases by age:

  • five in 50s
  • two in 80s
  • two in 20s
  • one under 20
  • one in 30s

Meantime, the region's sixth case, a man in his 50s, has also recovered.

The regional health department updates local numbers on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday morning.

Meantime, Ontario is reporting 135 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the provincial total to 993.

There are three new deaths, meaning now 18 people have died of the virus in this province.
