The recently completed pride crosswalk in downtown Stratford was vandalized early Friday morning, according to Stratford Police.
They believe the incident to be hate-motivated. The damage, which occurred while the paint was still wet, consisted of household paint dumped in several areas across the crosswalk, as well as dark spray paint.
Public Works employees were able to remove the majority of the damage with a pressure washer and street sweepers.
Police are still searching for the culprit, and are asking anyone with business or home video surveillance in the area to check their cameras and property for any evidence linked to the incident.
