Police want to identify pick-up truck driver after Waterloo traffic incident

By CityNews Kitchener Staff

Waterloo regional police are trying to identify the driver of a pick-up truck who allegedly failed to stop at a stop sign and then fled from officers over the weekend.

Police witnessed the incident Sunday around 4:30 p.m. as they were conducting traffic enforcement in the Lincoln Road and Marshall Street area.

A white GMC Sierra pick-up truck reportedly blew through a stop sign at an intersection and then fled at a high rate of speed when police attempted to pull them over.

The truck was last seen turning right onto Bellehaven Drive and police say a pursuit was not initiated because of public safety concerns.

Police continue to investigate and they want anyone with information, including those with any relevant video, to contact investigators at 519-570-9777, ext. 6399.

Anonymous tips can also be provided to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
