Running low on supplies for their pet pantries, the local humane societies have put out a call to help, asking the community to donate.
Pet pantries help out families struggling to make ends meet, keeping pets and their owners together by providing much-needed supplies.
On social media, the Humane Society of Kitchener-Waterloo and Stratford Perth say, “Starting now, we may need to provide smaller portions, and clients are still limited to visiting once every four weeks.”
They mentioned that their shelves are running “critically low.”
Both humane societies are looking for dry dog or cat food specifically. Monetary donations are also helpful, so workers can purchase what they need.
On social media, the Cambridge and District Humane Society also warn that its supplies are low.
“Our Emergency Pet Food Bank is running very low on supplies, and we need your help to make sure we can continue supporting pets and families in our community.”
They add that smaller bags of dry pet food are needed to hand out to clients that may have to take public transit to pick them up.
