Alberta driver charged in Kitchener crash that seriously injured pedestrian

A collision that saw a pedestrian seriously injured in Kitchener has led to charges for a driver from Alberta.

Waterloo regional police were called after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on Weber Street East near Madison Avenue North.

It happened Wednesday shortly after 8 p.m. and a 33-year-old Kitchener woman was transported to an out-of-region hospital.

Her injuries are described as being serious but non-life-threatening.

The driver of the involved vehicle was arrested at the scene.

A 32-year-old Alberta man has been charged with dangerous operation causing bodily harm and operation causing bodily harm.
