Regional police warning the public of ongoing taxi scam

Two suspects are wanted by Waterloo regional police in an ongoing taxi scam that has affected several people across the region.
On July 13, police responded to numerous reports of a man and a woman posing as a taxi driver and a customer.
They would approach people in public asking for their debit card information in exchange for cash, but they would then drain as much money as they could from the accounts with the stolen information.
Police are warning the public of the ongoing scam and are reminding everyone to never give out their debit card information to anyone, especially those looking for help paying for a fare.
Anyone with information on the suspects are asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
