Kitchener-based engineers create Mentos-powered ‘Fizzooka’

A group of engineers in Kitchener are using the explosive power of Mentos and cola to bring a feature of a popular video game to life.

The “Fizzooka” is a Mentos-powered bazooka that was, at one time, only available through the popular game Fortnite, but the team at Hacksmith Industries have built a life-size operational model, showing it’s potential off on their wildly popular YouTube channel.

The Kitchener-based research and development company has created projects like the worlds brightest flashlight, a bat signal, and even a real life lightsaber.

On YouTube, Hacksmith has more than 15 million subscribers, a combined 2.8 billion views, and are amongst the most popular tech channels on the platform.

You can find the “Fizzooka” on Fortnite for the next two weeks, and on the Hacksmith Industries YouTube channel.
