Items stolen in break-and-enter while residents were sleeping

Waterloo Regional Police are investigating a residential break-and-enter in Woolwich Township.

It happened overnight while people inside the residence on Chilligo Road were sleeping.

A suspect broke in and entered the home around 4:45 a.m. on Oct. 11. Once inside, the suspect stole property from the residence.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the police or submit a tip anonymously through Crimestoppers.

Police are providing some tips to prevent break-ins such as; locking all windows and doors even when home, keeping valuables out of plain sight or common areas and equipping homes with video surveillance systems around the front or back door.
