Kitchener Fire Night at The Aud

By Justine Fraser

Kitchener Fire Night is taking over the Rangers game at The Aud Sunday evening.

The Kitchener Rangers partnered with the Kitchener Fire Department to advertise Fire Prevention Week, happening from Oct. 6 to 12.

Tonight’s game features a ceremonial puck drop at 6 p.m. with the Honour Guard and a cheque presented to Clarky’s Kids. Clarky’s Kids is a charity started by former Ranger David Clarkson, who also played 10 seasons in the National Hockey League for the New Jersey Devils.

It aims to help kids inside Grand River Hospital’s pediatric oncology unit get a chance to experience a Ranger’s game.

The campaign this week is trying to educate everyone on the importance of working smoke alarms.

Kitchener Fire will be hanging out at the game giving out important fire safety tips.
