Hold and secure lifted for Kitchener school as police investigate weapons incident

A school in Kitchener was placed in a hold and secure while police investigated a weapons incident.

Police were in the area of Huron Road and Battler Road for a weapons investigation.

As a safety precaution, Huron Heights Secondary School was placed in a hold and secure.

It was lifted at approximately 1:20 p.m.

A spokesperson for Waterloo Regional Police has confirmed that the incident is not related to two other school closures, Cameron Heights CI and St. Mary’s High School, in the Region.
