A Cambridge man is facing charges for allegedly using his 3D printer to make gun parts.
While it certainly wasn’t the printer’s intended purpose, some people have been using the tech to try and create firearms.
Waterloo Regional Police launched an investigation into reports this was being done at a residence in Cambridge.
Officers searched a home in that city this week and discovered various 3D printed handgun receivers and other handgun parts, as well as several prohibited devices and a prohibited weapon.
A 32-year-old Cambridge man was arrested and charged with various offences including manufacturing a firearm.
He is scheduled to appear in court in March.
