Extreme Weather Centre: Wednesday cancellations

Cancellations for Feb. 22, 2023 — Updated at 12:30 p.m. 

PUBLIC AND CATHOLIC SCHOOLS:

– WRDSB; All Wednesday afternoon rentals and school events are cancelled. Parents are encouraged to check with event organizers to see if their event, meeting or game will be rescheduled to a later date. 

– WCDSB; All St. Louis Adult Learning and Continuing Education programs are cancelled on Wednesday evening, all campuses closed. All Community Use of School permits are also cancelled for the evening. Kindergarten Registration is also cancelled this evening at St. Daniel CES in Kitchener. Homework Clubs will be running at all participating Catholic Elementary and Secondary Schools. 
 

PUBLIC TRANSIT: 

– Grand River Transit has an ION replacement shuttle running between Conestoga and Northfield Stations, and between Kitchener Market and Fairway Stations beginning at 5 p.m. ION light rail will operate between Northfield and Kitchener Market Stations. 

POST-SECONDARY:

– Wilfrid Laurier University campuses are closing as of 4:30 p.m. 

– University of Waterloo campuses closing as of 4:30 p.m. 

– Conestoga College campuses closing as of 4 p.m. 
 

CHILDCARE CENTRES:

– EarlyON Roger Street is closing at 4 p.m. and all evening programs are cancelled 

OTHER:

– KidsAbility sites closing as of 4:30 p.m. and all evening programming is cancelled 

– KW Shuffleboard League; all games at all K-W venues cancelled tonight

– Wilmot Recreation Complex; lane swim scheduled for Thursday from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. has been cancelled

– Preston Figure Skating Club (FSC); All off-ice classes have been cancelled at Hespeler Arena, 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. skating sessions still continuing. All Recreational Group Programs at Karl Homuth Arena tonight from 4:00 p.m to 5:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. have been cancelled

– Scorpions Volleyball in Cambridge; All practices cancelled.

– St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Cambridge; Ash Wednesday worship for 7 p.m. cancelled

– Wednesday night's Manna dinner at Historic St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Kitchener is cancelled 

– STEM Club cancelled this evening at Hespeler Baptist Church

– Williamsburg Community Centre in Kitchener closed as of 5 p.m. and all neighbourhood programs are cancelled this evening

– House of Friendship Leadership Programs at the Kingsdale Community Centre are cancelled

– John Dolson Centre in Cambridge is closed
