Winter storm watch issued for Wednesday night (update)
Posted Feb 20, 2023 06:47:00 PM.
A winter storm watch is now in place for Waterloo Region.
Snow and ice pellets are expected to start late Wednesday and continue into Thursday. We may also see prolonged periods of freezing rain.
Environment Canada says the precipitation may fall heavily at times, which could create hazardous travel conditions.
It's all due to a Colorado low that will be moving into the area.
The weather agency says winter storm or freezing rain warnings may be issued when the system arrives.
A special weather statement, first issued Monday, has since been lifted.
