GRT allowing alternate stops for nighttime riders

If you're riding the bus at night, Grand River Transit is reminding you, there are options to make you feel as safe as possible.
The service says any time after dusk or 9 p.m. (whichever is earlier), you can request an alternate stop.
Any riders looking to be dropped off closer to home or just closer to somewhere they feel safer can let their driver know ahead of time.
Now the bus will stick to the scheduled route but the driver will make an effort to find the safest place to pull over and stop near the requested area.
GRT officials are recommending those riders requesting an alternate stop also get off at the front of the bus for added safety.
The option to request an alternate stop is open until the end of service that night.
#DYK you can request an alternate stop along a bus route after dusk? (Or after 9pm, whichever is earlier). That now applies to express routes and ION Bus too! Just let the operator know in advance, and exit by the front door for added safety. https://t.co/ZozJN8HhAM pic.twitter.com/GbGdlyWki3
