Waterloo Region's largest COVID-19 vaccination clinic opened in Cambridge on Monday.

It is located at 66 Pinebush Road (where the RONA used to be located).

The clinic is being operated by Grand River Hospital staff, with support from the other local hospitals.

“We are pleased to support the Region’s COVID-19 vaccination strategy locally,” Grand River Hospital president and CEO, Ron Gagnon said in a release. “We have had the benefit of learning from our on-site vaccination clinic which has been operating for the past few months and are looking forward to applying this knowledge and lessons learned to increase access to the vaccine across our communities.”

The clinic at Grand River Hospital closed on Friday.

The Cambridge Pinebush will be up to 20 immunization stations by the end of the week, and could expand to 40 once more vaccine becomes available.

So far, over 14,000 people in the region have been fully vaccinated.

Region of Waterloo Public Health has provided the following information about booking appointments.

Anyone who is currently eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine, including adults 70+, can pre-register for an appointment.

The fastest way to receive an appointment is to provide an email or text (mobile phone number) when you pre-register.

When residents who have pre-registered are notified that appointments are available, they can choose to get their vaccine at the Cambridge Pinebush location or any other vaccination clinic in Waterloo Region: COVID-19 Vaccination Clinics in Waterloo Region.
