Police have released photos of people they are looking to identify in connection to a shooting in Waterloo this morning.

Two people were sent to the hospital after a shooting near the Starlight Social Club in Waterloo.

Regional Police say two men were shot around 2 a.m. Saturday, and were sent to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

One of the men has been released, while police say the other is in stable condition.

Police say the incident began with an altercation in an establishment in the King and Dupont area of Waterloo, and ended with gun shots being fired outside.

The shooting is believed to be targeted, but police cannot say if the victims sent to the hospital were involved in the altercation, or if they were caught in the crossfire.

A suspect was seen running from the area shortly after the shooting. No arrests have been made.

King Street North, between Princess and Dupont was closed for hours Saturday morning for the investigation. It has since reopened, but police will be in the area all day canvassing businesses and looking for security footage of the incident.

Police believe there were multiple witnesses in the area at the time of the shooting, they are asked to contact Regional Police or Crime Stoppers.
