Celebrations Last Night

New Year’s celebrations took place in the region last night and into the early hours this morning.

In Kitchener city hall held a free night of skating and blues music.

Waterloo hosted a family celebration at Waterloo Public Square with music and skating on an outdoor rink.

Cambridge welcomed families to take part in their celebration at the Hespler arena for skating, games and more.

Guelph hosted Sparkles in the Park with a fireworks display early last night.

In Toronto’s Nathan Phillips Square, City TV news anchor Gord Martineau hosted for the 23rd time, with performances from Howie D from the Backstreet Boys, Karl Wolf, JRDN, Angelie and the cast of American Idiot.

In New York, a star-studded group of entertainers helped crowds ring in the New Year at Times Square. Lady Gaga, Justin Beiber and Santana among the performers.
